Emirates grows sky high

Dubai: Emirates have recruited around 660 cabin crew and more than 60 pilots since March 2009. Obviously that wasn’t enough, so the Emirates have recently announced that a further 2,000 more cabin crew will be hired this year to support its growth.

Emirates will present their future plans today at the International Travel Bourse in Berlin (ITB). They will increase their amount of aircrafts, flights and lounges. To turn their future plans into reality they need to recruit up to 2,000 more cabin crew.

The Emirate passengers can now relax in comfort in six lounges; Beijing, Mumbai, Johannesburg, Dusseldorf, Hamburg and Manchester. The airline has invested more than Dh266 million in airport lounges, just to make sure their premium passengers feel relaxed and pleased.

Durban and Luanda are the two new planed destinations as well as Tokyo, Amsterdam, Prague, Madrid and Dakar that will start this year. To support the new routes the Dubai-based international airline has added 14 aircrafts to its fleet since March last year, going from 131 to 145.

From 981 departures per week in March 2009, the airline is now despatching 1,107 passenger flights per week out of Dubai.

The airline is clearly growing towards success in more than one way. And even though the airline is gaining more popularity among its passengers they won’t settle for less than the best.
