Regionally, only five percent of UAE residents were found to be highly satisfied with their remuneration. The picture across the rest of the Gulf and wider Middle East was similar with a peak of seven percent of professionals being highly satisfied with their salaries in Qatar.

There is a wide gap of salary differing from country to country, the survey said. The survey further mentioned that Qatar overlapped UAE in terms of biggest salaries with more than one third of Qatari i.e. 39% professionals earn between $3,001 (Dh 11,013) and $8000 each month. The figure was 37% for the UAE.

Overall, the survey indicated a raise of 24% increase in the cost of living in the Middle East yet the average salary only increased only by 7% which resulted in a dissatisfied professional population.
