The mixed use residential project developed by Sorouh in partnership with the Abu Dhabi government is just a few meters off the city’s corniche. Lulu Island’s residential units will include villas, townhouses and apartments in addition to the 55,000 square foot of retail area that will feature a beach resort and business hotels.
In a recent press statement, Anthony Mallows the Executive Director of the Lulu Island Development, said, "Lulu Island is already one of the most desirable locations in the UAE and will become one of the most valuable in the Middle East.”
“[Lulu Island] has all of the ingredients to ensure long-term value - location, amenity, quality residential and community facilities that people desire, with a compelling 'Island Living' lifestyle proposition. These timeless real estate fundamentals are supported by Lulu Island's investment zone status and are set within an environment of economic stability on the doorstep of a thriving capital city" he added.
The mega development will have a side facing the city with an urban theme and a side facing the beach with a traditional coastal theme. In addition, Lulu Island will have several unique feature including pedestrian-friendly streets, a Dune Park that will preserve the red sands of Al Ain, and a public area that is 40% of the size of the entire development.
Lulu Island is expected to be ready within the next 20 years and offers freehold ownership for GCC nationals and ninety-nine years leasehold for other expatriates.
