Hamburger goes halal

Halal burgers with smoked turkey instead of bacon. The menu change has made politicians of France report fast food chain Quick to Discriminations et pour l’Egalite, France Discrimination Ombudsman.

“It is positive that Quick adjust to their clients by offering halal, but they take it too far when they don’t offer anything else. That is discriminatory”, said René Vandierendonck, socialistic mayor of French Roubaix.

The burgers have made the French minister of agriculture Bruno le Maire see green:
“By withdrawing all pork from a restaurant that is supposedly welcoming everyone, I think they put themselves in ethnical minority thinking.”

The webpage Al-Kanz sees it from a different perspective. They don’t think the reactions would have been the same if Quick had served ecological burgers instead.
