The aviation industry has been growing at 18 per cent compound annual growth rate (CAGR). The term CAGR is a business and investing term and remains widely used especially in growth industries such as this one.

The number of passengers carried by domestic airlines in October 2009 was 4.02 million as compared to 3.56 in September the same year. With a visible increase in traffic movement during December 2009 and increase in revenues, a decision has been made that the country needs up to 3000 aircrafts in the coming ten years according to the newspaper The Times of India.

There is also a need to make the air travel safer and more secure. The most important thing is not only to create an infrastructure for the aviation industry but to make it secure and safe, said the Union civil minister Paul Patel.

The Indian aviation is one of the world’s fastest growing and they seem to retain that title for some time. There will be more airports and more aircrafts, the best way to describe India’s aviation future is by the word; MORE.
