The World takes shape

The developer of The Heart of Europe project has announced the appointment of Foundation Construction Group Limited to begin construction this month.

Construction will begin with soil testing followed by improvement of the in situ sand of the island, an engineering procedure undertaken to prevent subsidence, increase the overall bearing capacity and ensure the future stability of the island.

FCG aims to complete ground settlements works on May 2010 after which Kleindienst Group will commence building its 20 private holiday villas. The villas are scheduled for completion in 2011.

“The Heart of Europe is about to commence the most critical phase of ground works to ensure the lifetime stability of our islands. We are pleased to be working with a group of geotechnical engineers that have vast experience in stabilising the foundations of reclaimed land,” said Josef Kleindienst, Chief Executive of the Kleindienst Group.

Since The Heart of Europe launched in December, Kleindienst Group has sold 11 villas on Germany Island.

- A group of about 250 man-made islands arranged in the shape of a map of the world.
- Location: about 4 km off the Jumeirah coast in Dubai.
- Area: 9 km wide and 7 km from south pole to north pole. Enough space for about 100 shopping malls the size of Mall of the Emirates.

- The first completed property is the Nakheel display villa located on one of the islands of Greenland.
