“I am now completely sure that it was Mossad,” said Dahi Khalfan, police lieutenant general in Dubai to AFP.

He is referring to the killing of Mahmud, founder of Palestinian Islamist Hamas organisation’s military wing. Mahmud was found dead in a room of the luxurious Al Bustan Rotana hotel near Dubai’s airport on January 20.

Dubai police have identified 26 suspects from the murder they say bore the hallmarks of Israeli secret service Mossad.

Therefore they have issued an arrest order for Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu and for Meir Dagan, head of Mossad. Among other things, they are accused of having “insulted” Dubai and Western countries by letting the suspects use foreign passports from Britain, Ireland, Australia and Germany.

The authorities have also put a stop to Israeli citizens travelling on foreign passports to enter United Arab Emirates.
