A 55 –piece orchestra has been hired by the Finnish Giant Nokia to create new ringtones for its range of smartphones.
According to Nokia, they have resorted to hiring an orchestra after a study revealed that classical music ringtones were the second in popularity.
Aleksi Eeben, a sound designer at Nokia, said: "The 25 original pieces, called ‘miniatures’ were composed by five Nokia Design in-house sound designers.”
The 25 original tunes were recorded with the Bratislava Symphony orchestra (consisting of 55 members) and some of them are already available on Nokia Lumia 920 and Nokia Lumia 820.
Nokia also has collaborated with the Audio Production Company Epic Sound that assisted on composing and arranging the music.
This could be an innovative and different creative idea for Nokia and a good way to shed the light on the uniqueness that Nokia is trying to show in this feature.
